Colombia, her homeland, inspired her for shapes and colors. But Natalia Criado, a South American designer, cut her teeth in Milan. In the shadow of the city, she graduated in Industrial Design and once she returned home she took advantage of the lessons received.
Natalia has made the passion for beauty and design the hallmark of her style. Indeed a certain simplicity and clean lines is evident both in the furnishing accessories and in the jewels.
A versatile talent from Colombia
Natalia has proven to be a versatile talent, able to range from vases of a disarming beauty to the ceramic mugs of the Impronta collection. A collection deliberately imperfect, where the hardness of the chipped edges contrasts with the nicety of the decoration.
Little Lucia, her first line of jewelry, is a profusion of decorations, while Artefacto runs on an opposite ridge. Here geometric shapes and essential silhouettes are the leit-motiv for necklaces, earrings and body jewels. Through a meticulous study, Natalia has proven to master different techniques and to know how to wander between different styles. No wonder then that the designer chooses to be inspired by nature with the Naturaleza Muerta collection. Inspired by the fruits of her land, Natalia has created a collection of hair clips and brooches in the shapes of apple and avocado.
The funky eyewear collection
The versatility of Natalia allows her create both objects for the home and fashion accessories. Everything becomes a source of inspiration. And worthy of being declined in its most appropriate form, of course. With the Around Eyewear project, the designer has added a further piece to her production.
Around Eyewear is perhaps the final synthesis of her work. It is a sort of bridge between Italy and Colombia, since the collection is developed in Latin America but produced in Italy. A series of funky and visionary frames. Unique pieces capable of being produced in series and satisfying a market as large as niche.
